[GUIDE] How to Download & Install Corrupted Warfare: REDUX (PC • STEAM)

Cadet, if you want Corrupted Warfare: Redux to actually load instead of just occupying your Downloads folder, follow these steps exactly. Do not improvise. Do not “kind of” do them.

STEP 1 — GET THE GAME

First, ensure you own Rusted Warfare on Steam:

STEP 2 — DOWNLOAD CORRUPTED WARFARE: REDUX

Go to the official pages:

• CW:R Tutorial Page
• Corrupted Warfare Main Page

Download the latest build. You will receive either: CorruptedWarfareRedux_x.x.x.rwmod or CorruptedWarfareRedux_x.x.x.zip.

STEP 3 — OPEN THE REAL GAME FOLDER (NOT THE IMAGINARY ONE)

1. Open Steam.
2. Go to your Library and right-click Rusted Warfare.
3. Click Properties… → Installed Files → Browse…
This jumps straight into the actual installation directory.

Typical path on Windows looks like:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rusted Warfare\

STEP 4 — FIND OR CREATE THE “mods” FOLDER

Inside the Rusted Warfare folder, check for a folder called mods.
• If it exists, open it.
• If it does not exist, create it. Exactly spelled: mods

STEP 5 — PLACE THE MOD INSIDE

• If you downloaded a .rwmod file: copy that file into mods/
• If you downloaded a .zip file:

1. Right-click → Extract All…
2. Ensure the extracted top-level folder contains things like units/, gfx/, and *.ini files.
3. Move that single mod folder into mods/

Do NOT create this catastrophe:
mods/CorruptedWarfareRedux/CorruptedWarfareRedux/units/
The game will not dig that deep for you.

STEP 6 — ENABLE THE MOD IN-GAME

1. Launch Rusted Warfare.
2. On the main menu, click Mods.
3. Click Reload Mods once.
4. Look for Corrupted Warfare: Redux in the list and enable it.

If you see the mod in the list, you are 90% done. The last 10% is not panicking when something loads slower the first time.

Mobile Captains, this post exists because many of you treat mod files like wallpapers. They are not wallpapers. They must go where the game can see them.

STEP 1 — DOWNLOAD THE MOD

Using your phone browser, visit:

• CW:R Tutorial Page
• Corrupted Warfare Main Page

Download the latest .rwmod or .zip file. It will usually land in: /storage/emulated/0/Download/

STEP 2 — OPEN A FILE MANAGER

Use your phone’s Files app or any file manager.

Navigate to internal storage and look for a folder named:
rusted_warfare

If you see it, open it. Inside, create or confirm a folder named:
mods

STEP 3 — MOVE THE MOD INTO THE “mods” FOLDER

• If your file is .rwmod: move or copy that file into:
/storage/emulated/0/rusted_warfare/mods/

• If your file is .zip: 1. Extract it in your Downloads folder.
2. After extraction, you should see a folder like CorruptedWarfareRedux/
3. Move that folder into:
/storage/emulated/0/rusted_warfare/mods/

Do NOT leave the mod inside Download/ and hope the game guesses. It will not guess. It is not psychic.

STEP 4 — ACTIVATE INSIDE THE GAME

1. Launch Rusted Warfare on your phone.
2. Tap Mods on the main menu.
3. If there is an Import mod file button, you can also import directly from Downloads, but the safest way remains using the rusted_warfare/mods/ folder.
4. Tap Reload Mods.
5. Find Corrupted Warfare: Redux and enable it.

STEP 5 — QUICK CHECK

Start a Skirmish map. If you see new factions, units, or altered UI related to CW:R, the mod loaded correctly.

If nothing appears, retrace: Download → Correct folder (rusted_warfare/mods/) → Reload Mods. Every missing step becomes an invisible ship.
